If you are frequently visited by a health professional (such as a registered carer, nurse, occupation therapist etc.), they may be eligible for a health professional permit to allow limited parking within resident parking schemes. The health professional will have to apply for this directly as it is not the responsibility of the resident to obtain or pay for the permit.
The Council currently provides health and service providers with permits to allow parking in residential schemes for up to 4 hours. These permits are to support care providers with ‘home visits’ or appropriate parking near to surgeries and health centres.
If you wish to apply for a permit, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you frequently visit patients in the community, you may be eligible for a health/service provider permit to allow limited parking within resident parking schemes. You, as the provider of the service, will have to apply for this directly as it is not the responsibility of the resident to obtain or pay for the permit.
If you work in the town centre or close to a resident scheme, you are not eligible for a permit. You have to be a resident in the area or complete home visits as part of your job role to be eligible for a permit within a resident scheme.
You can however apply for a contract permit to park on one of the long stay car parks within the town centre. Please contact us for further details.
You are permitted to park whilst carrying out your duties only. Parking will be limited to a maximum of 2 hours in any residents parking area.
The permit is intended to allow you to park in any resident scheme within the borough for a permitted time, without contravening other restrictions.
The permit is for resident parking areas only.
The permit does not allow you to park on any other restriction including, but not exclusively, any pay and display area or limited waiting areas (unless the area is signed as mixed use, i.e. resident permit holders/limited waiting areas):
- yellow lines
- bus stops
- school zig-zags
- loading bays
- disabled parking bays (unless the blue badge is displayed).
