Do you need some 'me time'? Enjoy some of the great outdoor spaces that we have in our own borough, as well as taking part in a number of FREE activities and events in the coming months. Sessions include art and craft, walk and talk, gardening, healthy recipe demonstrations and the opportunity to learn about the ancient art of beekeeping. The sessions are open to the public, and the next confirmed sessions will be on Tuesday 3rd December and Thursday 5th December at 10 am - 12 pm when we will be planting bulbs at Cherry Tree Library for the bees to enjoy in the spring.

Transport to and from venues is available on request. Please let us know in advance so that we can make appropriate arrangements. Places on sessions are limited, so please contact Andrew Orr at andrew.orr@blackburn.gov.uk or phone 01254 587941 to book your place.

This event is funded by Our Community, Our Future: Blackburn's Social Integration programme. This three year programme brings together local partners to strengthen the relationship between people from different backgrounds and helps the borough to respect and understand diversity, faith and culture.

Cherry Tree Library Name Change

It's official! Livesey library has now been re-named Cherry Tree Library. Earlier this year, we ran a competition for local schools to design a new logo for the library to suit the name change. We asked the pupils to come up with something that incorporated the new name of the library and reflected the importance of the local area to them. Two winners were chosen - Leah (high school category) and Marley (primary school category). Their designs are now on display for all to see and enjoy. The four runners up were Krystal, George, Ebony and Ava.

An official naming ceremony was held on the 9th November where the young artists who designed the library's new logos were celebrated.
