Everything in the cemetery is managed and maintained by Blackburn with Darwen Council including:
- Burials
- All sections of various denominations e.g. Christian, Muslim, Jewish;
- All grass and shrub areas
- Flower and hard surfaces
The Council is also responsible for both the physical and legal aspects of the burial procedure, including grave digging, grounds maintenance and keeping of the burial registers

As Blackburn cemetery has reached its capacity only pre-purchased graves can now be used.
New graves are available for purchase at:
Burials can be arranged in the other cemeteries if you already own the burial rights for a family grave.
