Documents that are required by the registrar which are not in English must be translated into English by a suitably qualified person from the list below.
The translation must be undertaken by a third party who is not related to you or your partner.
The document must be fully translated (including any stamps) and must include the declaration ‘I certify that this is a true and accurate translation of an original document seen by me’.
The translation then needs to be signed and stamped by the translator (if they have a stamp) and their name and address recorded.

- manager/personnel officer (of a limited company)
- member, associate or fellow of a professional body
- Member of Parliament

- minister of a recognised religion (including Christian Science)
- nurse (RGN and RMN)
- officer of the armed services (active or retired)
- optician
- paralegal (certified paralegal, qualified paralegal or associate member of the Institute of Paralegals)
- person with honours (an OBE or MBE, for example)
