Consultation - Community Governance Review: Parish of Livesey

The Council at its meeting on 3 December 2020 resolved to conduct a Community Governance Review of the parish of Livesey, in accordance with the requirements of the Local Government and Public Involvement in Health Act 2007. The report and documents, which includes the Terms of Reference and ward map are available below.

The Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council boundary review was undertaken by the Local Government Boundary Commission for England, which came into effect from May 2018. As a result of this review, there were changes to the electoral wards and its boundaries. However, the ward boundary no longer aligns with the Livesey Parish Council boundary and the properties in polling district LP6, which is a small area consisting of 69 properties are situated outside it. This needs to be rectified for electoral administration purposes and in order to do this a Community Governance Review needs to be undertaken. The outcome the review could be that LP6 be merged with the neighbouring polling district LP5 and thereby also becoming part of Livesey Parish Council. Regardless of the outcome of the consultation and review the area will still remain in the Livesey with Pleasington ward.
